Atilano Honrio took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 22nd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Eustratios Vertsotis. Olympiacos FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. A collision led to Black Rose 1979 getting a freekick after 24 minutes play. Aquiles Belasko hit a great ball. In the 26th minute, Grigoris Plexioudas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 33 minutes into the match, Olympiacos FC's goal looked a bit too open when Baldomero Guillem came free, but Eustratios Vertsotis reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jeremias Emmanuel showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Notis Trontzos in the 35th minute of the match. When Pablo Chabier fell near the penalty area in the 35th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Black Rose 1979's protests and gave Pablo Chabier a yellow card for diving instead. In the 35th match minute, Black Rose 1979 was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Pablo Chabier to maneuver through the defense. After 36 played minutes, Olympiacos FC's Nikiforos Valaoras shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Jeremias Emmanuel came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. Notis Trontzos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 41st minute. Jeremias Emmanuel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 44th minute, Notis Trontzos reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Jeremias Emmanuel. The goal made the score 3-0.

Olympiacos FC made a substitution. Pavlos Fanidis replaced Panos Papathomas. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Dimitris Koudas to strike the kick off in the second half. Jeremias Emmanuel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dimitris Koudas, who was totally free with the ball in the 52nd minute. Black Rose 1979's Jeremias Emmanuel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dimitris Koudas in the 54th minute of play. Jeremias Emmanuel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Notis Trontzos in the 79th minute of play. A collision led to Olympiacos FC getting a freekick after 82 minutes play. Grigoris Plexioudas hit a great ball. After having played for 83 minutes, Jacinto Fagondo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Black Rose 1979's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jacinto Fagondo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 87th minute, Pavlos Fanidis ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Jeremias Emmanuel was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-0. When the match had gone on for 92 minutes, Baldomero Guillem took a quick shot and it went in 4-1 without a chance for Eustratios Vertsotis to make any attempt to save it. Black Rose 1979's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
