An unexpectedly hard shot by Reynaldo Siqueira in the 3rd minute of play forced Espigão Steamrollers's goalkeeper Dênis Paulista to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After having played for 6 minutes, Otávio Valadares managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Espigão Steamrollers's supporters crossed their fingers, but Otávio Valadares was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a rather tough play, Espigão Steamrollers's Jailson Sergipano got a free kick in the 8th minute. 12 minutes into the match, S.C. Reis United's goal looked a bit too open when Otávio Valadares came free, but João Paulo Urbano reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the match had gone on for 17 minutes, Rodriguinho de Toledo put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Dênis Paulista. In the 20th minute, Amadeu Negri got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Laerte Palmeira fell near the penalty area in the 21st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Espigão Steamrollers's protests and gave Laerte Palmeira a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Espigão Steamrollers's Laerte Palmeira got a free kick in the 21st minute. Dênis Paulista came out of the goal in the 24th minute to try and stop a shot by S.C. Reis United's Reynaldo Siqueira. But to his dismay, Reynaldo Siqueira quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. A collision led to S.C. Reis United getting a freekick after 31 minutes play. Luiz Leite hit a great ball. When Serafim Lira fell near the penalty area in the 34th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Espigão Steamrollers's protests and gave Serafim Lira a yellow card for diving instead. After 34 played minutes Espigão Steamrollers got a freekick which was hit by Serafim Lira. Rodriguinho de Toledo took the ball and in the 37 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Dênis Paulista. Dênis Paulista dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-3. After 41 minutes, Edu Vasconcelos mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Espigão Steamrollers and the S.C. Reis United players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 42 played minutes Espigão Steamrollers got a freekick which was hit by Edu Vasconcelos. After a rather tough play, Espigão Steamrollers's Patrick Hermes got a free kick in the 43rd minute. Espigão Steamrollers's Dênis Paulista played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rodriguinho de Toledo in the 44th minute of play. The Espigão Steamrollers players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. S.C. Reis United were winning 0-3.

The supporters of S.C. Reis United booed when Espigão Steamrollers was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. Serafim Lira didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 53rd minute, Rodriguinho de Toledo managed to get in a good position for a shot. S.C. Reis United's supporters rose to their feet, but Rodriguinho de Toledo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Dênis Paulista breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Edu Vasconcelos hit a great freekick 53 minutes into the match. After 55 minutes of play, S.C. Reis United's Rodriguinho de Toledo made it 0-4 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Dênis Paulista was left in no man's land by his defense there! Espigão Steamrollers's Dênis Paulista played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Reynaldo Siqueira in the 61st minute of play. Dênis Paulista showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Reynaldo Siqueira, who was totally free with the ball in the 67th minute. In the 71st minute Jairo Veiga shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but João Paulo Urbano saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Espigão Steamrollers booed when S.C. Reis United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 76 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luiz Leite didn't get a good kick on the ball. Vitório Mello's late challenge caught a S.C. Reis United's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Vitório Mello helped the player get up and apologised. Vitório Mello hit a great freekick 79 minutes into the match. After 80 played minutes, S.C. Reis United's Fabinho Pereira shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Dênis Paulista came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in S.C. Reis United reached it. Dênis Paulista made an important save on a dangerous shot by Rodriguinho de Toledo in the 84th minute. Jairo Veiga kicked well hit freekick during the 85th minute of the match. Otávio Valadares sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Amadeu Negri hit a great freekick 95 minutes into the match. The S.C. Reis United supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing S.C. Reis United would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
