After 4 played minutes The Nerd Herd got a freekick which was hit by Joachim Hassel. César Alagoano sent away a hard shot on goal in the 6th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In a very dangerous position, a player in Nova Iguaçu MZFC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 10th minute. Penalty! In the 13th minute, Joel Lopes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 16th match minute, The Nerd Herd was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dan Høines to maneuver through the defense. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Agnaldo Vargas in the 19th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jon-Inge Kolberg saved The Nerd Herd from getting behind. Jon-Inge Kolberg didn't succeed to prevent the ball from going into goal when Nova Iguaçu MZFC's Agnaldo Vargas shot an unexpected shot in the crossbar's under edge and made 1-1 in the ordered_time% minute. Dan Høines came free with the goalkeeper in the 32nd minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Lauro Varela could save by the left post. The Nerd Herd's Jon-Inge Kolberg played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Horácio Simão in the 34th minute of play. In the 35th minute Nova Iguaçu MZFC were awarded a corner. Gilmar Donato went to the cornerflag to take it. Frode Kjellevold thought of kicking away a contribution in front of goal but messed it up so badly that the ball went to the right of an astonished Jon-Inge Kolberg, a very annoying self made goal in the 35th minute which led to 1-2. After some fancy dribbling in the 40th minute, Ove Svingen managed to get in a good position for a shot. The Nerd Herd's supporters rose to their feet, but Ove Svingen was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Lauro Varela breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 41 played minutes Nova Iguaçu MZFC got a freekick which was hit by Joel Lopes. After 42 minutes of play, The Nerd Herd's Ove Svingen made it 2-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Lauro Varela was left in no man's land by his defense there! After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Agnaldo Vargas to strike the kick off in the second half. Gilmar Donato took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 52nd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Jon-Inge Kolberg. The Nerd Herd's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Nova Iguaçu MZFC made a substitution. Silas Capixaba replaced Horácio Simão. Nova Iguaçu MZFC's João Vítor Vieira was substituted for Juvenal Novaes. A collision led to The Nerd Herd getting a freekick after 68 minutes play. Frode Kjellevold hit a great ball. When Joel Lopes fell near the penalty area in the 69th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Nova Iguaçu MZFC's protests and gave Joel Lopes a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Nova Iguaçu MZFC getting a freekick after 70 minutes play. Joel Lopes hit a great ball. Dan Høines received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 73rd minute. Lauro Varela tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 76th minute, Nova Iguaçu MZFC's Diego Cerezo dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-3. With an all-out effort, Nova Iguaçu MZFC's Jon-Inge Kolberg threw himself towards the right post 81 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Agnaldo Vargas, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. In the 81st minute, Agnaldo Vargas reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Jon-Inge Kolberg. The goal made the score 2-4. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dan Høines in the 84th minute of play forced Nova Iguaçu MZFC's goalkeeper Lauro Varela to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The Nerd Herd's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Joachim Hassel in the 85th minute. Joachim Hassel made a great header on The Nerd Herd's corner, it was just that Nova Iguaçu MZFC's Lauro Varela managed to reach the ball for a save. After 87 played minutes The Nerd Herd got a freekick which was hit by Dan Høines. Jon-Inge Kolberg made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Agnaldo Vargas in the 88th minute of play. During the 90th minute of the match Joel Lopes completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Joel Lopes a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. Joel Lopes kicked well hit freekick during the 91st minute of the match. Lauro Varela made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Joachim Hassel in the 92nd minute of play. 94 minutes in the game Telmo Barbosa did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to César Alagoano. Nova Iguaçu MZFC's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
