The crowd rose to their feet as Santos FC's Hans Ladd slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Ernesto Eutor. That made the score 2-0 after 8 minutes of play. In the 15th minute Forrest Hopkins shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ernesto Eutor saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Lawrence Smart could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 17th minute of the match, but Ernesto Eutor made a huge save. Americo Baleren kicked well hit freekick during the 18th minute of the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Sergio Arotza during the 24th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 24 played minutes Deportivo Medievales got a freekick which was hit by Sergio Arotza. Ernesto Eutor made a fantastic save in the 26th minute, when Lawrence Smart sent off a good shot on target. A collision led to Santos FC getting a freekick after 31 minutes play. Forrest Hopkins received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Ernesto Eutor tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Gualterio Niguel hit a great freekick 45 minutes into the match. Kris Marks took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 46th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Ernesto Eutor. Deportivo Medievales's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Kris Marks stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd match minute, Santos FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Forrest Hopkins to maneuver through the defense. The audience was convinced that Hans Ladd's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ernesto Eutor was relentless in the 58th minute of the game. With his leg Jim Mitchell managed to avoid a goal in the 60thth minute, when Deportivo Medievales's Sergio Arotza fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Ernesto Eutor showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kris Marks in the 61st minute of the match. The Deportivo Medievales fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ernesto Eutor should have stopped the shot. In the 90th minute Forrest Hopkins shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ernesto Eutor saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With an all-out effort, Deportivo Medievales's Jim Mitchell threw himself towards the right post 92 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Americo Baleren, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Lawrence Smart charged in rather forcefully in the 94th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Lawrence Smart the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play.
