Mats Elg showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Justo Ramirez, who was totally free with the ball in the 4th minute. 8 minutes into the game, Fulgencio Berto was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. La Candela FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave FC Kurdistan the free kick. In the 11th minute Justo Ramirez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mats Elg saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Through an outstanding action, after 13 minutes, Humberto Llope successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. After 17 played minutes La Candela FC got a freekick which was hit by Luis Darien. 19 minutes in the game Olov Vallengren after having made a beautiful turn got a great opportunity to score and fired away a shot that went just to the left past a relieved Humberto Llope. A very good opportunity. After a rather tough play, La Candela FC's Victoriano Sazon got a free kick in the 20th minute. FC Kurdistan's Mats Elg played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Justo Ramirez in the 24th minute of play. A collision led to FC Kurdistan getting a freekick after 25 minutes play. Christian Nyman hit a great ball. After 26 played minutes, La Candela FC's Amadeo Fliz shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Mats Elg came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in La Candela FC reached it. After 28 played minutes La Candela FC got a freekick which was hit by Celestino Guilabertus. After 29 minutes, Jesus Arias mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the La Candela FC and the FC Kurdistan players grew even worse after the yellow card. Jesus Arias hit a great freekick 29 minutes into the match. Humberto Llope showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alfons Öberg, who was totally free with the ball in the 38th minute. A collision led to La Candela FC getting a freekick after 41 minutes play. Celestino Guilabertus hit a great ball. When the match had been going on for 45 minutes, FC Kurdistan's Olov Vallengren got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Humberto Llope. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Christian Wik made a kick off. In the 52nd minute, Evelio Larra hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Benigno Guillem charged in rather forcefully in the 54th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Benigno Guillem the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 58th match minute, La Candela FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fulgencio Berto to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Justo Ramirez in the 60th minute of play forced FC Kurdistan's goalkeeper Mats Elg to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The crowd rose to their feet as La Candela FC's Justo Ramirez slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Mats Elg. That made the score 1-1 after 62 minutes of play. FC Kurdistan's Johnny Västberg was substituted for Martin Ström. Mats Elg was out of position in the 67 minute of play, and Justo Ramirez capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Justo Ramirez really showed his touch with that goal: 1-2. FC Kurdistan's Christian Nyman suffered a concussion in the 70th minute, after a hard challenge, and had to leave the field. In the 71st match minute, La Candela FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Saul Flor to maneuver through the defense. Mats Elg made an important save on a dangerous shot by Justo Ramirez in the 73rd minute. Saul Flor sent away a hard shot on goal in the 77th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 79th minute, Christian Wik left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The FC Kurdistan fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-2. After a defensive mix-up in FC Kurdistan's zone, Saul Flor stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Mats Elg came out of the goal and Saul Flor tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Humberto Llope made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alfons Öberg in the 89th minute of play. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
