Franco Maccioni showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Chico Carneiro in the 5th minute of the match. After some careless play in the UNLIMITED defense, Vitinho Bastos kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Franco Maccioni. The UNLIMITED fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Franco Maccioni should have stopped the shot. After a defensive mix-up in Flamengo FSCMZ's zone, Fausto Perazzolo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gilberto Alvarenga came out of the goal and Fausto Perazzolo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When the match had gone on for 15 minutes, Fausto Perazzolo put it in 1-1 from a short distance just to the right of Gilberto Alvarenga. Franco Maccioni took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Celsinho Abraão, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cássio Souto in the 27th minute of play forced UNLIMITED's goalkeeper Franco Maccioni to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 30th minute, Fausto Perazzolo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a rather tough play, UNLIMITED's Amedeo Castrucci got a free kick in the 34th minute. When Celsinho Abraão came up free with the goalie in the 36th minute, the Flamengo FSCMZ fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Celsinho Abraão couldn't finish the play. In the 40th minute Cássio Souto shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Franco Maccioni saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some careless play in the UNLIMITED defense, Vitinho Bastos kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Franco Maccioni. The UNLIMITED fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Franco Maccioni should have stopped the shot. After the first half Flamengo FSCMZ were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Chico Carneiro was the one to do the kick off. UNLIMITED's Franco Maccioni proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 53rd minute of the match, managed to save UNLIMITED from getting a goal against them. Vitinho Bastos could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 56th minute of the match, but Franco Maccioni made a huge save. 68 minutes into the match, UNLIMITED's goalkeeper Franco Maccioni had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Vitinho Bastos. 69 minutes into the match, Celsinho Abraão had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Franco Maccioni. UNLIMITED's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Celsinho Abraão was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-3. 72 minutes into the match, Fausto Perazzolo notched a goal, 2-3, to the right of Flamengo FSCMZ's Gilberto Alvarenga. Gilberto Alvarenga was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Celsinho Abraão recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 76th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 78th minute, Vitinho Bastos ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Franco Maccioni was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-4. Enzo Pallotta kicked well hit freekick during the 80th minute of the match. In the 81st minute of the match Ademir Paes sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Franco Maccioni skillfully saved the ball. Lúcio da Fonseca hit a great freekick 88 minutes into the match. If Cássio Souto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Vitinho Bastos came free with the goalkeeper in the 94th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Franco Maccioni could save by the left post. Franco Maccioni showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cássio Souto in the 95th minute of the match. In the 96th minute, Ferruccio Scotti hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cássio Souto in the 97th minute of play forced UNLIMITED's goalkeeper Franco Maccioni to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Flamengo FSCMZ's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
