After 22 minutes, Leizarraga Campomanes mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Girona FC and the Mexilhão F. C. players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Girona FC's Leizarraga Campomanes got a free kick in the 22nd minute. Luís Paulo Velloso made an important save on a dangerous shot by Andresito Paredes in the 26th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 28th minute, Andresito Paredes managed to get in a good position for a shot. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 4-0 at half-time.
