Jerold Avila did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 1-2 to the left of a surprised Harry Housham 39 minutes into the match. 44 minutes into the match, Montevideo City Torque's goal looked a bit too open when Charlie Cheeseman came free, but Santos Balbanea reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.

The audience thought a goal was coming when Martyn Hinchcliffe got free with Santos Balbanea in the 56th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When Brad Delaney fell near the penalty area in the 61st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Staffy Terrier FC's protests and gave Brad Delaney a yellow card for diving instead. The crowd rose to their feet as Martyn Hinchcliffe kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Santos Balbanea. That made the score 1-4 in the 92 minute of play. Staffy Terrier FC's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
