Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Donato Saraiva got the match started through his kick off. In the 4th minute, Sport Club Mavericks's Vitório Donatello seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Vitório Donatello the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Sport Club Mavericks protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Vitório Donatello had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. Vitório Donatello hit a great freekick 5 minutes into the match. Marco Saldanha scored 0-1 in the 5th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Rogério Cean, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After 10 played minutes SC Braga got a freekick which was hit by Sabino Setúbal. After a defensive mix-up in SC Braga's zone, Edson Mattos stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Albérico Vilaverde came out of the goal and Edson Mattos tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 13th minute, Mateus Prates left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The SC Braga fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. SC Braga's defense didn't have a chance, in the 20th minute, when Donato Saraiva scored to the left of an out of position Albérico Vilaverde, making the score, 1-2. After 23 minutes, Edson Mattos mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Sport Club Mavericks and the SC Braga players grew even worse after the yellow card. Edson Mattos hit a great freekick 23 minutes into the match. Juvenal Castro charged in rather forcefully in the 26th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Juvenal Castro the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After having played for 27 minutes, Marco Saldanha managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SC Braga's supporters crossed their fingers, but Marco Saldanha was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Alexsandro Lira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Albérico Vilaverde having to interfere. Alexandrino Bessa recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 35th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Eugênio Leme received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 38th minute. Albérico Vilaverde tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Fred Vides sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some careless play in the Sport Club Mavericks defense, Mateus Prates kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Rogério Cean. The Sport Club Mavericks fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Rogério Cean should have stopped the shot. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-4 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Mateus Prates made a kick off. Albérico Vilaverde made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Donato Saraiva in the 52nd minute of play. Donato Saraiva fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Albérico Vilaverde having to interfere. In the 58th minute, Anselmo Vides hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Hélio Leme fell near the penalty area in the 62nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored SC Braga's protests and gave Hélio Leme a yellow card for diving instead. Hélio Leme kicked well hit freekick during the 62nd minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Oscar Prado in the 63rd minute of play forced SC Braga's goalkeeper Albérico Vilaverde to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 63rd minute, Oscar Prado left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Sport Club Mavericks fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-4. Donato Saraiva scored 3-4 in the 70th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Albérico Vilaverde, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Albérico Vilaverde didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Donato Saraiva went, in the 73rd minute, to the upper right corner, 4-4 was the resulting score. In the 77th minute Donato Saraiva shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Albérico Vilaverde saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 82nd minute, Sport Club Mavericks's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Anselmo Vides fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Anselmo Vides came free with the goalkeeper in the 82nd minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Rogério Cean could save by the left post. Mateus Prates struck a weak shot in the 84th minute. Rogério Cean didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SC Braga. 86 minutes into the match, Mateus Prates dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Rogério Cean, 4-5. 91 minutes into the match, Sport Club Mavericks's goal looked a bit too open when Alexandrino Bessa came free, but Rogério Cean reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
