Afşar Uçuk was slow to take the kick. During this time Blue Mountain State's players had a chance to rest. The corner led Blue Mountain State's George Popescu to fire away a dangerous shot which Marcelo Gröhe despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Robin Sharma showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Zé Pedro Paiva, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. After 34 minutes of play, Blue Mountain State's Karol Panasewicz made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Marcelo Gröhe was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 39th match minute, Blue Mountain State was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Turgut Şimşek to maneuver through the defense. With a little luck, Arsenal de Gols F.C's Marcelo Gröhe got control of the ball when Afşar Uçuk tried to sneak it across the goal line. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Karol Panasewicz was the one to do the kick off. Marcelo Gröhe made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dino Berardino in the 54th minute of play. When Karol Panasewicz came up free with the goalie in the 60th minute, the Blue Mountain State fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Karol Panasewicz couldn't finish the play. Blue Mountain State's Aykut Aşkın was substituted for Gökcan Bergin. Marcelo Gröhe made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Aykut Aşkın in the 65th minute of play. In the 65th minute Aykut Aşkın shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcelo Gröhe saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Arsenal de Gols F.C's Téo da Silva was substituted for Zé Pedro Paiva. Arsenal de Gols F.C's Ademar Simão was substituted for Luiz Valadares. Blue Mountain State's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Afşar Uçuk in the 69th minute. After some careless play in the Arsenal de Gols F.C defense, Vitinho Faria kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Marcelo Gröhe. The Arsenal de Gols F.C fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Marcelo Gröhe should have stopped the shot. When Blue Mountain State's Aykut Aşkın in the 74th minute got a chance for a shot 74th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. The referee ignored Arsenal de Gols F.C's protests and gave Claus Ostwald a yellow card for diving instead. Claus Ostwald kicked well hit freekick during the 80th minute of the match. Aykut Aşkın fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marcelo Gröhe having to interfere. In the 86th minute Karol Panasewicz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcelo Gröhe saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Karol Panasewicz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 90th minute. Marcelo Gröhe tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
