In the 30th match minute, Izaltina FAD was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Laerte Tande to maneuver through the defense. Diedrik Nys made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from William Angelsø in the 32nd minute of play. After taking down the ball on Izaltina FAD's corner Benito Lain fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Diedrik Nys quite easily take care of the ball. Diedrik Nys showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Matías Mendes, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. William Angelsø might have been able to make a better finish in the 47th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Diedrik Nys. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. William Angelsø ran back to his position shaking his head. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Matías Mendes was the one to do the kick off. Hamílton Galvão sent away a hard shot on goal in the 50th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Izaltina FAD made a substitution. Leandro Sugar replaced William Angelsø. Matías Mendes's late challenge caught a São Petersburgo FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. When the match had gone on for 66 minutes, Hamílton Galvão put it in 1-2 from a short distance just to the right of Manuel Alves. The supporters of Izaltina FAD booed when São Petersburgo FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 71 match minutes in a wonderful position. Natanael de Senna didn't get a good kick on the ball. With an all-out effort, Izaltina FAD's Diedrik Nys threw himself towards the right post 86 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Well-Well Waack, which otherwise would have been placed in the net.
