The supporters of La Bichineta booed when Academia 1903 was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 9 match minutes in a wonderful position. Aldo Maju didn't get a good kick on the ball. With his leg Hélio Mangueira managed to avoid a goal in the 11thth minute, when La Bichineta's Godfried Teunens fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. In the 13th minute La Bichineta were awarded a corner. Poncio Justo went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner led La Bichineta's Poncio Justo to fire away a dangerous shot which Hélio Mangueira despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Humberto Salomone showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lucien de Neutere, who was totally free with the ball in the 15th minute. 23 minutes into the match, Academia 1903's Timoteo Columbo sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Humberto Salomone narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Hélio Mangueira showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Godfried Teunens, who was totally free with the ball in the 25th minute. Godfried Teunens might have been able to make a better finish in the 29th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Hélio Mangueira. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Hélio Mangueira took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Godfried Teunens, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Hélio Mangueira showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Godfried Teunens in the 34th minute of the match. Poncio Justo got a throw-in 35 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Godfried Teunens. Harald Ek made in the 40th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by La Bichineta's Arnaldo Pirmin. In the 45th minute, Godfried Teunens got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. A nice corner shot did that Lucien de Neutere got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Humberto Salomone quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Godfried Teunens made a kick off. After 64 played minutes La Bichineta got a freekick which was hit by Godfried Teunens. Academia 1903's Gérard Magyar was substituted for Harald Ek. After a rather tough play, La Bichineta's Sun Yuan Zheng got a free kick in the 73rd minute. With an all-out effort, Academia 1903's Humberto Salomone threw himself towards the right post 75 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Lucien de Neutere, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Amado Filipo kicked well hit freekick during the 78th minute of the match. Academia 1903's Lucien de Neutere quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Timoteo Izel, made in the 82nd minute of the game. Hélio Mangueira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eliseo Iigo in the 89th minute of play. With a little luck, La Bichineta's Humberto Salomone got control of the ball when Nicanor Morenø tried to sneak it across the goal line. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Academia 1903 players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
