Spectators: 36 (Terracing: 28, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Andre Agassi kicked off to start the match. After a rather tough play, Astillero del Guayas's Lastra Trilla got a free kick in the 3rd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Andre Agassi in the 7th minute of play forced Astillero del Guayas's goalkeeper Vinicio Collado to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, MAFFIAN's Vidar Biörnberg got a free kick in the 8th minute. In the 12th minute Andre Agassi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vinicio Collado saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Aron Dahlbom made a fantastic save in the 15th minute, when Henry Bada sent off a good shot on target. After some fancy dribbling in the 18th minute, Henry Bada managed to get in a good position for a shot. Astillero del Guayas's supporters rose to their feet, but Henry Bada was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Aron Dahlbom breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 20th match minute, MAFFIAN was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by George Svensson to maneuver through the defense. Vinicio Collado showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Andre Agassi, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. Vinicio Collado made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Andre Agassi in the 24th minute of play. In the 25th minute Pete Sampras shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vinicio Collado saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Mats Wilander had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Pete Sampras in the 29th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Vinicio Collado saved Astillero del Guayas from getting behind. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Andre Agassi in the 31st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Vinicio Collado prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 34th minute, Pete Sampras left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The MAFFIAN fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Patrik Zachrisson got a throw-in 37 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Pete Sampras. An unexpectedly hard shot by Andre Agassi in the 38th minute of play forced Astillero del Guayas's goalkeeper Vinicio Collado to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Vinicio Collado took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Andre Agassi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Andre Agassi struck a weak shot in the 41st minute. Vinicio Collado didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for MAFFIAN. Vinicio Collado made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Andre Agassi in the 43rd minute of play. Henry Bada might have been able to make a better finish in the 46th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Aron Dahlbom. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Henry Bada ran back to his position shaking his head. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Pete Sampras in the 48th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Vinicio Collado saved Astillero del Guayas from getting behind. After the first half MAFFIAN were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Lastra Trilla to make the kick off. Andre Agassi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. If Pete Sampras had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The crowd rose to their feet as Andre Agassi kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Vinicio Collado. That made the score 0-2 in the 59 minute of play. MAFFIAN's Tord Karlsson was substituted for Vidar Biörnberg. Astillero del Guayas's Vinicio Collado played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Andre Agassi in the 64th minute of play. 65 minutes into the match, MAFFIAN's goal looked a bit too open when Henry Bada came free, but Aron Dahlbom reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 65 minutes into the game, Astillero del Guayas's Henry Bada nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Aron Dahlbom made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2. After some careless play in the Astillero del Guayas defense, Andre Agassi kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Vinicio Collado. The Astillero del Guayas fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Vinicio Collado should have stopped the shot. Patrik Zachrisson charged in rather forcefully in the 77th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Patrik Zachrisson the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 77 played minutes MAFFIAN got a freekick which was hit by Patrik Zachrisson. Pete Sampras received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Vinicio Collado came out and tried to block the shot, but Pete Sampras slotted it home off the left post making it 1-4 in the 82nd minute. The audience was convinced that Andre Agassi's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Vinicio Collado was relentless in the 86th minute of the game. Pete Sampras could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 97th minute of the match, but Vinicio Collado made a huge save. When the match was over MAFFIAN could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Astillero del Guayas throughout the match.
