A sloppy throw-in by Jose Nuno in the 24th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by INTER de Córdoba's Rene Bernad. 30 minutes into the match, Yalapa's goal looked a bit too open when Damián Åkerman came free, but Basri İhtiyar reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Basri İhtiyar stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Justino Eusko's shot from short distance in the 32nd minute.
