In the 13th minute of the match, Alessandro do Valle tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Juvenal Sergipano saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Célio Fontes charged in rather forcefully in the 15th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The audience was convinced that Alessandro do Valle's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Juvenal Sergipano was relentless in the 24th minute of the game. MarquinhosEC's Zézinho Simões played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lobo Zornoza in the 25th minute of play. Inácio Freitas came free with the goalkeeper in the 29th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Juvenal Sergipano could save by the left post. The crowd rose to their feet as MarquinhosEC's Inácio Freitas slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Juvenal Sergipano. That made the score 1-0 after 32 minutes of play. Juvenal Sergipano stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Alessandro do Valle's shot from short distance in the 37th minute. Zézinho Simões showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lobo Zornoza, who was totally free with the ball in the 38th minute. In the 39thth minute of the game Inácio Freitas who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but CUITEENSE FUTEBOL CLUBE's Juvenal Sergipano was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Celso Tande in the 43rd minute of play forced MarquinhosEC's goalkeeper Zézinho Simões to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Alessandro do Valle recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 45th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.
