Atilano Esiquio made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Atilano Esiquio took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cirilo Ritchie, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Güney Mengüalp showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Marcial Abaunza, who was totally free with the ball in the 12th minute. With an all-out effort, La Guardia Imperial's Güney Mengüalp threw himself towards the right post 12 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Marcial Abaunza, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. With a little luck, Arrecifes's Güney Mengüalp got control of the ball when Marcial Abaunza tried to sneak it across the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 25th minute, Cirilo Ritchie managed to get in a good position for a shot. Arrecifes's supporters rose to their feet, but Cirilo Ritchie was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Atilano Esiquio breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Atilano Esiquio made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Waldemar Korytkowski in the 30th minute of play. In the 40thth minute of the game Cirilo Ritchie who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but La Guardia Imperial's Atilano Esiquio was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 41 minutes La Guardia Imperial's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Modesto Gipuzkoa who took care of the corner kick. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Carlos Teves to strike the kick off in the second half. Cirilo Ritchie might have been able to make a better finish in the 52nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Atilano Esiquio. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Cirilo Ritchie ran back to his position shaking his head.
