Árpád Mészáros made a fantastic save in the 14th minute, when Thibaut Zengers sent off a good shot on target. The audience was convinced that Dávid Tóth's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ignaz Pisula was relentless in the 15th minute of the game. FC Budapest's Árpád Mészáros played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Csaba Takács in the 16th minute of play. Ignaz Pisula took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Viktor Szőlősi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 36th minute Máté Polgár shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ignaz Pisula saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. KF Trepça's Thibaut Zengers got a good chance for a goal in the 42nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 46 minutes into the game, Mátyás Bánhegyi was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. FC Budapest's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave KF Trepça the free kick. In the 46th minute, Mátyás Bánhegyi hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a little luck, FC Budapest's Árpád Mészáros got control of the ball when Thibaut Zengers tried to sneak it across the goal line. After the first half FC Budapest were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The audience thought a goal was coming when Máté Polgár got free with Ignaz Pisula in the 61st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The supporters of FC Budapest booed when KF Trepça was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 67 match minutes in a wonderful position. Csaba Takács didn't get a good kick on the ball. The crowd rose to their feet as FC Budapest's Máté Polgár slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Ignaz Pisula. That made the score 0-2 after 69 minutes of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Máté Polgár in the 86th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ignaz Pisula saved KF Trepça from getting behind. Árpád Mészáros didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Márcio Leitão went, in the 89th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-3 was the resulting score. FC Budapest's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
