Angelo Prior showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jörn Svartengren, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. In the 26th minute Jörn Svartengren shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Angelo Prior saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Inter de Guayaquil FC's Sebastian Hellkvist played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kepa Barajo in the 29th minute of play. Angelo Prior took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jörn Svartengren, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Sebastian Hellkvist showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Baladi Ribalta in the 45th minute of the match. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Jörn Svartengren to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd match minute, Inter de Guayaquil FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Pompiliu Cristian to maneuver through the defense. Inter de Guayaquil FC's Sebastian Hellkvist played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Christoffer Blomqvist in the 56th minute of play. Sebastian Hellkvist made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Baladi Ribalta in the 58th minute of play. Baladi Ribalta took the ball and in the 58 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Sebastian Hellkvist. Sebastian Hellkvist dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. In the 62nd minute Baladi Ribalta shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sebastian Hellkvist saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. MILLONARIOS FC made a substitution. Juan Corredor replaced Christoffer Blomqvist. Inter de Guayaquil FC's Éric Cantona was substituted for Jörn Svartengren. Theo Hernández got a throw-in 67 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Teofilo Goitia. Sebastian Hellkvist stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Juan Corredor's shot from short distance in the 70th minute. Sebastian Hellkvist took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Juan Corredor, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jakub Ziombkowski received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Angelo Prior came out and tried to block the shot, but Jakub Ziombkowski slotted it home off the left post making it 2-1 in the 73rd minute. MILLONARIOS FC made a substitution. Federico Errazquin replaced Baladi Ribalta. Inter de Guayaquil FC's Humberto Barragan was substituted for Lorenzo Acutain. Juan Corredor took the ball and in the 78 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Sebastian Hellkvist. Sebastian Hellkvist dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-1. Angelo Prior made an important save on a dangerous shot by Humberto Barragan in the 82nd minute. 83 minutes into the match, MILLONARIOS FC's goal looked a bit too open when Jakub Ziombkowski came free, but Angelo Prior reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jakub Ziombkowski fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Angelo Prior having to interfere. After having played for 95 minutes, Jakub Ziombkowski managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Inter de Guayaquil FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jakub Ziombkowski was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. For all the effort they put into the match, the Inter de Guayaquil FC players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for MILLONARIOS FC.
