The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 6th match minute, AFC - Curitiba was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Matouš Carda to maneuver through the defense. Lucjan Setara fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gilberto Dionísio having to interfere. In the 18th minute Rey Pelé shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gilberto Dionísio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Matouš Carda in the 23rd minute of play forced HeBr United's goalkeeper Gilberto Dionísio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the match had gone on for 23 minutes, Rey Pelé put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Gilberto Dionísio. Gilberto Dionísio made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rey Pelé in the 28th minute of play. Rey Pelé hit a great freekick 31 minutes into the match. In the 32nd minute Rey Pelé shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gilberto Dionísio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 35 minutes into the game, AFC - Curitiba's Matouš Carda nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Gilberto Dionísio made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. Gilberto Dionísio showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Zhang Yin Si, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Valdemar Lucas stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Matouš Carda in the 53rd minute of play forced HeBr United's goalkeeper Gilberto Dionísio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Lucjan Setara fell near the penalty area in the 54th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored AFC - Curitiba's protests and gave Lucjan Setara a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to AFC - Curitiba getting a freekick after 54 minutes play. Lucjan Setara hit a great ball. HeBr United's Gilberto Dionísio proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 59th minute of the match, managed to save HeBr United from getting a goal against them. After 60 played minutes AFC - Curitiba got a freekick which was hit by Lucjan Setara. After a rather tough play, AFC - Curitiba's Romário Ortiz got a free kick in the 61st minute. Jan Bykowski did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 0-3 to the left of a surprised Gilberto Dionísio 63 minutes into the match. In the 76th minute, Luiz Fábio Borges hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. HeBr United's Gilberto Dionísio proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 87th minute of the match, managed to save HeBr United from getting a goal against them. With a little luck, HeBr United's Gilberto Dionísio got control of the ball when Jan Bykowski tried to sneak it across the goal line. August Wahlnäs fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gilberto Dionísio having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Matouš Carda got free with Gilberto Dionísio in the 92nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 94 minutes HeBr United's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Silvio Asier who took care of the corner kick. After 94 minutes, Luiz Fábio Dracena mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the HeBr United and the AFC - Curitiba players grew even worse after the yellow card. Gilberto Dionísio came out of the goal in the 95th minute to try and stop a shot by AFC - Curitiba's August Wahlnäs. But to his dismay, August Wahlnäs quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-4. The AFC - Curitiba players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
