Olaf Glozor's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Brigid Rutherford read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 9th minute of play. In the 13th minute Zdzislaw Kręcina shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Brigid Rutherford saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 14th minute of the match, Viktor Cziráki tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Brigid Rutherford saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. With his leg Brigid Rutherford managed to avoid a goal in the 15thth minute, when Emeryt Sosnowiec's Viktor Cziráki fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. St. James Gate F.C.'s defense didn't have a chance, in the 20th minute, when Olaf Glozor scored to the left of an out of position Brigid Rutherford, making the score, 1-0. Brigid Rutherford made an important save on a dangerous shot by Zdzislaw Kręcina in the 27th minute. 28 minutes into the match, Viktor Cziráki dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Brigid Rutherford, 2-0. Emeryt Sosnowiec's Cícero Palmeira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Pearse McWilliam in the 31st minute of play. 33 minutes into the match, Emeryt Sosnowiec's goal looked a bit too open when Hewney Kirby came free, but Cícero Palmeira reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-0.

The St. James Gate F.C. fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-1. Brigid Rutherford made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Olaf Glozor in the 93rd minute of play. In the 95th minute, Witold Krzynowek hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Cícero Palmeira made a fantastic save in the 96th minute, when Pearse McWilliam sent off a good shot on target.
