Hudson Costa stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Benny Niva's shot from short distance in the 33rd minute. In the 34th minute, Benny Niva left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Celta de Virgos fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. After 37 played minutes Celta de Virgos got a freekick which was hit by Leonardo Cordero. Benny Niva recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 47th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Brent-Jan Van de cauter to make the kick off. The crowd rose to their feet as Benny Niva kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Hudson Costa. That made the score 1-2 in the 53 minute of play. Hudson Costa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Benny Niva, who was totally free with the ball in the 56th minute. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. In the 72nd minute, David Astudillo left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. David Astudillo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 76th minute of the match, but Hudson Costa made a huge save. Hudson Costa made a fantastic save in the 81st minute, when David Astudillo sent off a good shot on target.
