Atauri Fuente was out of position in the 8 minute of play, and Flavio Maestri capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Flavio Maestri really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. The audience was convinced that Flavio Maestri's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Atauri Fuente was relentless in the 11th minute of the game. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Bibiano Arratia during the 15th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 15th minute, Bibiano Arratia hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Seguinus Ortega, 16 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. 17 minutes into the game, Deportivo Municipal's Flavio Maestri nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Atauri Fuente made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. After some fancy dribbling in the 20th minute, Ciano Briz managed to get in a good position for a shot. Deportivo Municipal's supporters rose to their feet, but Ciano Briz was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Atauri Fuente breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Flavio Maestri could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 23rd minute of the match, but Atauri Fuente made a huge save. In the 24th minute, Deportivo Municipal's Zuri Serantes ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Atauri Fuente. Atauri Fuente yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 3-0. Flavio Maestri in the 27thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Atauri Fuente, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. 29 minutes into the match, Flavio Maestri had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Atauri Fuente. Rei FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Flavio Maestri was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-0. In the 35thth minute of the game Flavio Maestri who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Rei FC's Atauri Fuente was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Flavio Maestri might have been able to make a better finish in the 37th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Atauri Fuente. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Flavio Maestri ran back to his position shaking his head. Rei FC's Atauri Fuente proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 37th minute of the match, managed to save Rei FC from getting a goal against them. With his leg Atauri Fuente managed to avoid a goal in the 38thth minute, when Deportivo Municipal's Flavio Maestri fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Flavio Maestri sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 4-0.

The supporters of Rei FC booed when Deportivo Municipal was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 55 match minutes in a wonderful position. Zuri Serantes didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 67th match minute, Deportivo Municipal was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ciano Briz to maneuver through the defense. After 69 played minutes Rei FC got a freekick which was hit by Oscar Cortes. If Flavio Maestri had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 71st minute Flavio Maestri shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Atauri Fuente saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Flavio Maestri sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Flavio Maestri in the 73rd minute of play forced Rei FC's goalkeeper Atauri Fuente to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Rei FC's Paulino Carmona got a free kick in the 74th minute. Deportivo Municipal's Guib Gordejuela was substituted for Celso Tejadillo. The supporters of Deportivo Municipal booed when Rei FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 76 match minutes in a wonderful position. Paulino Carmona didn't get a good kick on the ball. 79 minutes into the match, Flavio Maestri had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Atauri Fuente. Rei FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Flavio Maestri was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 6-0. After 84 minutes of play, Deportivo Municipal's Flavio Maestri made it 7-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Atauri Fuente was left in no man's land by his defense there! Atauri Fuente came out of the goal in the 88th minute to try and stop a shot by Deportivo Municipal's Flavio Maestri. But to his dismay, Flavio Maestri quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 8-0. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ursino Abrego got free with Ratko Glavak in the 94th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. There was no doubt that Deportivo Municipal were the better team. Deportivo Municipal's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
