In the 10th minute, Anier Sesuldo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 13th minute Donato Botelho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tabor Baltanas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Tabor Baltanas showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Téo Campidelis, who was totally free with the ball in the 17th minute. Danilo de Mendonça's late challenge caught a Valencia Racing Club 1979's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Danilo de Mendonça helped the player get up and apologised. Tomé Oliveira was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Gení Acarreta charged in rather forcefully in the 95th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The Valencia Racing Club 1979 fans cheered their team off the field, for while Rua Ferreira Viana F.C. had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
