Henry Van Herendael was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Philippe-Arnaud Heremans in the 26th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Tod Bridgeworth saved Carlisle United from getting behind. Henry Van Herendael showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Calvin Townsley in the 27th minute of the match. Tod Bridgeworth made an important save on a dangerous shot by Kris Van Eersel in the 28th minute. After some careless play in the Carlisle United defense, Philippe-Arnaud Heremans kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Tod Bridgeworth. The Carlisle United fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Tod Bridgeworth should have stopped the shot.
Andreas Pirlo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 51st minute. Tod Bridgeworth tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Thomas-Jan Thomas could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 53rd minute of the match, but Henry Van Herendael made a huge save. In the 55th minute Philippe-Arnaud Heremans shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tod Bridgeworth saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Tod Bridgeworth didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Philippe-Arnaud Heremans went, in the 58th minute, to the upper right corner, 4-1 was the resulting score. Calvin Townsley in the 77thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Henry Van Herendael, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Carlisle United's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
