Alessio Carta stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Shen Sang Hao's shot from short distance in the 26th minute. A well-hit corner resulted in Carl Van Kamp heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. The corner led FC Bruges's Philip Verhasselt to fire away a dangerous shot which Alessio Carta despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. In the 39th minute, Lasse Kroner hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 40 minutes of play, ≮Empire≯〓圣光之翼〓皇家社会's 叶森银 made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Luc Van Hinnendael was left in no man's land by his defense there! The supporters of ≮Empire≯〓圣光之翼〓皇家社会 booed when FC Bruges was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 43 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vassilis Katsanikas didn't get a good kick on the ball. Alessio Carta made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ken Brogren in the 45th minute. In the 46th minute 叶森银 shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luc Van Hinnendael saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.

FC Bruges's Luc Van Hinnendael proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 56th minute of the match, managed to save FC Bruges from getting a goal against them. 57 minutes into the match, ≮Empire≯〓圣光之翼〓皇家社会's goal looked a bit too open when Ken Brogren came free, but Alessio Carta reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Yan Xing fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luc Van Hinnendael having to interfere. Alessio Carta took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ken Brogren, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Alessio Carta showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Shen Sang Hao, who was totally free with the ball in the 68th minute. The audience was convinced that Shen Sang Hao's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Alessio Carta was relentless in the 69th minute of the game. Antonio Eggers's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Alessio Carta read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 72nd minute of play. Yan Xing could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 90th minute of the match, but Luc Van Hinnendael made a huge save. The crowd rose to their feet as ≮Empire≯〓圣光之翼〓皇家社会's Arotza Jimenez slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Luc Van Hinnendael. That made the score 2-3 after 91 minutes of play. In the 94th match minute, ≮Empire≯〓圣光之翼〓皇家社会 was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by 徐正锋 to maneuver through the defense. When FC Bruges's Shen Sang Hao in the 95th minute got a chance for a shot 95th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie.
