An unexpectedly hard shot by Tomasz Motowski in the 22nd minute of play forced La manada fc's goalkeeper Johnny van der Sar to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Iwo Sokolski received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 25th minute. Johnny van der Sar tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Tomasz Motowski struck a weak shot in the 28th minute. Johnny van der Sar didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for AA Bełchatów. 30 minutes into the match, AA Bełchatów's goalkeeper Leonard Rosen had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Samir Menad. Johnny van der Sar showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Iwo Sokolski, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. Leonard Rosen stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Samir Menad's shot from short distance in the 33rd minute. 34 minutes had been played when some careless play by AA Bełchatów's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Kusti Jõeäär was slow to take the kick. During this time La manada fc's players had a chance to rest. After taking down the ball on La manada fc's corner Kusti Jõeäär fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Leonard Rosen quite easily take care of the ball. 37 minutes into the match, La manada fc's goal looked a bit too open when Ryszard Przewozik came free, but Johnny van der Sar reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. La manada fc's Johnny van der Sar played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ryszard Przewozik in the 39th minute of play. AA Bełchatów were awarded a corner in the 41th minute after La manada fc's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Iwo Sokolski took the corner. The corner led AA Bełchatów's Ludomil Frankowski to fire away a dangerous shot which Johnny van der Sar despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Samir Menad to strike the kick off in the second half. The crowd rose to their feet as Tomasz Motowski kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Johnny van der Sar. That made the score 0-1 in the 50 minute of play. After some careless play in the La manada fc defense, Ryszard Przewozik kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Johnny van der Sar. The La manada fc fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Johnny van der Sar should have stopped the shot. Mohamed Merzekane received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 64th minute. Leonard Rosen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a little luck, La manada fc's Johnny van der Sar got control of the ball when Tomasz Motowski tried to sneak it across the goal line. Johnny van der Sar showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ryszard Przewozik in the 95th minute of the match.
