Davor Šuker who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 7thth minute tested the skills of Volkan Demirel when he managed to save the team from getting behind. 8 minutes into the match, Eric's goalkeeper Volkan Demirel had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Davor Šuker. After 13 minutes of play, Eric's Cezary Drapinski made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Álvaro Perpiñán was left in no man's land by his defense there! An unexpectedly hard shot by Theo Schumacher in the 18th minute of play forced Sporting Burgas's goalkeeper Álvaro Perpiñán to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Davor Šuker got free with Volkan Demirel in the 21st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 22 minutes into the match, Eric's goal looked a bit too open when Vintilă Ghițulescu came free, but Volkan Demirel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Vintilă Ghițulescu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 25th minute. Volkan Demirel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a little luck, Eric's Volkan Demirel got control of the ball when Davor Šuker tried to sneak it across the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Davor Šuker in the 31st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Volkan Demirel prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 32nd minute Sporting Burgas were awarded a corner. Davor Šuker went to the cornerflag to take it. Sporting Burgas's Davor Šuker was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Volkan Demirel in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. In the 35th minute of the match, Davor Šuker got a very nice opportunity to score, but Volkan Demirel was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Davor Šuker's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 39thth minute, Volkan Demirel skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. After a rather tough play, Eric's Theo Schumacher got a free kick in the 40th minute. Vintilă Ghițulescu recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 41st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Dalmo Cerezo kicked well hit freekick during the 41st minute of the match. 42 minutes into the match, Eric's goalkeeper Volkan Demirel had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Vintilă Ghițulescu. An unexpectedly hard shot by Roscoe Wong in the 46th minute of play forced Sporting Burgas's goalkeeper Álvaro Perpiñán to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Volkan Demirel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Davor Šuker, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

Sporting Burgas were awarded a corner in the 53th minute after Eric's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Davor Šuker took the corner. The corner led Sporting Burgas's Vintilă Ghițulescu to fire away a dangerous shot which Volkan Demirel despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Sporting Burgas's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Davor Šuker in the 55th minute. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Eric's goalie and right to Joel Ferrer. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Eric's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. In the 66th minute Davor Šuker shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Volkan Demirel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Eric booed when Sporting Burgas was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 67 match minutes in a wonderful position. Joel Ferrer didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 68th minute, Clemente Ieltxu got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Sporting Burgas's Davor Šuker in the 72nd minute got a chance for a shot 72nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Eric's goalie prevented a goal. Álvaro Perpiñán made a fantastic save in the 73rd minute, when Cezary Drapinski sent off a good shot on target. Álvaro Perpiñán showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Roscoe Wong in the 75th minute of the match. Davor Šuker hit a great freekick 78 minutes into the match. If Cezary Drapinski had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 83rd minute, Elliot Woodard hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Davor Šuker had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 90 minutes into the game, Alonzo Weldon was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Eric's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Sporting Burgas the free kick. Atrar El Brazi's late challenge caught a Sporting Burgas's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Atrar El Brazi helped the player get up and apologised. Atrar El Brazi kicked well hit freekick during the 93rd minute of the match. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
