Emanuel Podgoreanu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Severo Jordy in the 12th minute of play. In the 14th minute of the game Maximo Isauro made a throw-in which Jacek Cieslak played forward. 16 minutes into the game, Acercate Y Patea de Lejos's Horácio Garcia nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Ulf Julin made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Yves Ayral received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 18th minute. Ulf Julin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 24th match minute, Los pibes del corner was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Maximo Isauro to maneuver through the defense. In the 26th minute, Maximo Isauro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Horácio Garcia struck a weak shot in the 27th minute. Ulf Julin didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Acercate Y Patea de Lejos. 29 minutes into the match, Horácio Garcia had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Ulf Julin. Los pibes del corner's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Horácio Garcia was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. In the 33rd minute Horácio Garcia shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ulf Julin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ulf Julin stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Horácio Garcia's shot from short distance in the 37th minute. In the 38th minute of the match Acercate Y Patea de Lejos got a corner. Los pibes del corner's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Gustavo Tartalo ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner led Acercate Y Patea de Lejos's Ricardo Bochini to fire away a dangerous shot which Ulf Julin despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Ulf Julin didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Horácio Garcia went, in the 40th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-3 was the resulting score. After a rather tough play, Los pibes del corner's Donato Tadzio got a free kick in the 44th minute. Gustavo Tartalo was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 44th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal.

The supporters of Los pibes del corner booed when Acercate Y Patea de Lejos was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 50 match minutes in a wonderful position. Su Kun didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 54th minute, Acercate Y Patea de Lejos's Horácio Garcia dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-4. Ulf Julin made a fantastic save in the 57th minute, when Horácio Garcia sent off a good shot on target. Acercate Y Patea de Lejos's Emanuel Podgoreanu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Severo Jordy in the 58th minute of play. Ulf Julin stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Horácio Garcia's shot from short distance in the 61st minute. Horácio Garcia blasted a shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Ulf Julin having to make a save. 66 minutes into the match, Acercate Y Patea de Lejos's Horácio Garcia sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ulf Julin narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Pascual Etor hit a great freekick 68 minutes into the match. Acercate Y Patea de Lejos made a substitution. Eliseo Abechuco replaced Cyprian Trochowski. Acercate Y Patea de Lejos's Rosendo Gervaso was substituted for Yves Ayral. Acercate Y Patea de Lejos's Blas Guzman was substituted for Horácio Garcia.
