Alvaro Sforza did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 1-0 to the left of a surprised Graham Salmon 5 minutes into the match. Alvaro Sforza struck a weak shot in the 9th minute. Graham Salmon didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for AC Roma. In the 11th match minute, AC Roma was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Damazy Kissel to maneuver through the defense. In the 29th minute of the match Defense got a corner. AC Roma's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Robert Wells ran over to the corner to take the kick. When the match had gone on for 30 minutes, Alvaro Sforza took a quick shot and it went in 4-0 without a chance for Graham Salmon to make any attempt to save it. The AC Roma fans' excitement grew in the 37th match minute when AC Roma's Alvaro Sforza looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 5-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Fabiano Di Rocco sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Defense's Graham Salmon proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 45th minute of the match, managed to save Defense from getting a goal against them. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Trevor Warne to make the kick off. Graham Salmon didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Alvaro Sforza went, in the 51st minute, to the upper right corner, 6-0 was the resulting score. After 58th play minutes Alvaro Sforza shot 8-0, a short shot which went by Graham Salmon and just under the crossbar into goal. After some careless play in the Defense defense, Alvaro Sforza kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Graham Salmon. The Defense fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Graham Salmon should have stopped the shot. AC Roma's Camillo Pesce was substituted for Fabiano Di Rocco. 71 minutes into the game, Alvaro Sforza cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 11-0. Graham Salmon was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After some careless play in the Defense defense, Alvaro Sforza kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Graham Salmon. The Defense fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Graham Salmon should have stopped the shot. Graham Salmon made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Camillo Pesce in the 78th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Alvaro Sforza in the 79th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Graham Salmon prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 81stth minute of the game Alvaro Sforza who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Defense's Graham Salmon was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 82 minutes into the match, Alvaro Sforza notched a goal, 13-0, to the right of Defense's Graham Salmon. Graham Salmon was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Camillo Pesce might have been able to make a better finish in the 86th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Graham Salmon. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Camillo Pesce ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 87th minute Alvaro Sforza shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Graham Salmon saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. AC Roma fully deserved thier win.
