The crowd rose to their feet as Olympique Salonais's Song Peng Xi slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Clóvis Machado. That made the score 3-0 after 21 minutes of play. Clóvis Machado made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Song Peng Xi in the 25th minute of play. In the 30th minute Song Peng Xi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Clóvis Machado saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Zheng Liang Song fell near the penalty area in the 31st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Olympique Salonais's protests and gave Zheng Liang Song a yellow card for diving instead. Zheng Liang Song hit a great freekick 31 minutes into the match. François-Xavier Dionnet took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Diego Salgado, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Hector Etxepare could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 35th minute of the match, but Clóvis Machado made a huge save. Clóvis Machado was out of position in the 37 minute of play, and Tang Xi Zhen capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Tang Xi Zhen really showed his touch with that goal: 4-0. Hector Etxepare received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Clóvis Machado came out and tried to block the shot, but Hector Etxepare slotted it home off the left post making it 5-0 in the 41st minute. Cruz de Malta FC's Clóvis Machado played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Song Peng Xi in the 47th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Olympique Salonais's Tang Xi Zhen got a free kick in the 47th minute. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 5-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Hector Etxepare stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 52 minutes into the match, Tang Xi Zhen had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Clóvis Machado. Cruz de Malta FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Tang Xi Zhen was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 6-0. The supporters of Olympique Salonais booed when Cruz de Malta FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 60 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nilson Correia didn't get a good kick on the ball. Clóvis Machado took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Song Peng Xi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Song Peng Xi spun around in front of the goal 69 minutes in the game, and got away a shot that, to his disappointment, went to the left of Cruz de Malta FC's goal. Olympique Salonais's François-Xavier Dionnet played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Matías Recife in the 72nd minute of play. In the 72nd match minute, Cruz de Malta FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mathias Hermes to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of Olympique Salonais booed when Cruz de Malta FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 73 match minutes in a wonderful position. Romário Rosado didn't get a good kick on the ball. Clóvis Machado showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Song Peng Xi in the 75th minute of the match. If Song Peng Xi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. If Tang Xi Zhen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Clóvis Machado showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Song Peng Xi, who was totally free with the ball in the 95th minute. Olympique Salonais's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
