The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Salim De Clercq sent away a hard shot on goal in the 3rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. King Køng made in the 5th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by AztecGold's Calvin Eicke. 10 minutes into the match, POLI TIMISOARA's goal looked a bit too open when Mehran Ämrahov came free, but Dinu Săvoiu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. AztecGold's Gunvald Barnholm played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Șerban Georgescu in the 11th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Mehran Ämrahov in the 13th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Dinu Săvoiu saved POLI TIMISOARA from getting behind. 17 minutes into the game, Călin Hulubei cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Gunvald Barnholm was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Salim De Clercq fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dinu Săvoiu having to interfere. Călin Hulubei scored 0-2 in the 25th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Gunvald Barnholm, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 30th minute Călin Hulubei shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gunvald Barnholm saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Mehran Ämrahov might have been able to make a better finish in the 33rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Dinu Săvoiu. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Mehran Ämrahov ran back to his position shaking his head. The audience thought a goal was coming when Mehran Ämrahov got free with Dinu Săvoiu in the 33rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Salim De Clercq could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 37th minute of the match, but Dinu Săvoiu made a huge save. 38 minutes into the game, King Køng threw the ball into play from the sideline. AztecGold's Calvin Eicke quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. After 39 minutes of play, AztecGold's Mehran Ämrahov made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Dinu Săvoiu was left in no man's land by his defense there! Alex Camerlengo hit a great freekick 45 minutes into the match. AztecGold's Gunvald Barnholm played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Edgar Onea in the 46th minute of play. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

54 minutes into the match, Salim De Clercq had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Dinu Săvoiu. POLI TIMISOARA's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Salim De Clercq was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-2. Salim De Clercq's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Dinu Săvoiu read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 57th minute of play. Dinu Săvoiu didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Mehran Ämrahov went, in the 59th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-2 was the resulting score. AztecGold's Nedas Smilgys was substituted for Vicente Dantae. Horaţiu Blăniță could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 65th minute of the match, but Gunvald Barnholm made a huge save. If Mehran Ämrahov had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. AztecGold made a substitution. Ahmid Delapierre replaced Ola Soysal. When Salim De Clercq fell near the penalty area in the 68th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored AztecGold's protests and gave Salim De Clercq a yellow card for diving instead. After 69 played minutes AztecGold got a freekick which was hit by Salim De Clercq. King Køng kicked well hit freekick during the 70th minute of the match. Dinu Săvoiu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mehran Ämrahov, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Șerban Georgescu could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 74th minute of the match, but Gunvald Barnholm made a huge save. AztecGold's Abel Urre was substituted for Salim De Clercq. In the 82nd minute, Anacleto Gorri hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Horaţiu Blăniță came up free with the goalie in the 83rd minute, the POLI TIMISOARA fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Horaţiu Blăniță couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mehran Ämrahov in the 85th minute of play forced POLI TIMISOARA's goalkeeper Dinu Săvoiu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 87 played minutes POLI TIMISOARA got a freekick which was hit by Șerban Georgescu. Horaţiu Blăniță came free with the goalkeeper in the 92nd minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Gunvald Barnholm could save by the left post. For all the effort they put into the match, the POLI TIMISOARA players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for AztecGold.
