A collision led to Vitricidas getting a freekick after 22 minutes play. Hernan Mikeldi hit a great ball. Boško Balaban took the ball and in the 23 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Fabricio Romildo. Fabricio Romildo dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. 29 minutes into the match, Vitricidas's goalkeeper Fabricio Romildo had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Lidon Palencia. In the 34th minute, Lidon Palencia got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 35th minute, Steve Gerrard reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Fabricio Romildo. The goal made the score 5-0. If Nicolas Sendoa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Fabricio Romildo stood somewhat misplaced when Boško Balaban came free in front of goal and shot 6-0 to the left of him in the 40 minute. Steve Gerrard blasted a shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Fabricio Romildo having to make a save.
