The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 4th match minute, La Gallardeta was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Anacleto Primo to maneuver through the defense. Pocho Lavezzi showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. A collision led to Calangos do Cerrado-DF getting a freekick after 21 minutes play. Magno Tepedino hit a great ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Pocho Lavezzi in the 24th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Pedro Paulo Vieira prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The audience thought a goal was coming when Pocho Lavezzi got free with Pedro Paulo Vieira in the 26th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Paulino Jenaro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gilson Damião, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. After 33 minutes La Gallardeta's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Gilson Damião who took care of the corner kick. Sebastian Messi made a great header on Calangos do Cerrado-DF's corner, it was just that La Gallardeta's Paulino Jenaro managed to reach the ball for a save. Pocho Lavezzi blasted a shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Pedro Paulo Vieira having to make a save. Paulino Jenaro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dráuzio Sergipano in the 37th minute of the match. 38 minutes had been played when some careless play by La Gallardeta's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Gilson Damião was slow to take the kick. During this time Calangos do Cerrado-DF's players had a chance to rest. The corner went over the outstretched arms of La Gallardeta's goalie and right to Dráuzio Sergipano. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. La Gallardeta's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. Paulino Jenaro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dráuzio Sergipano, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Dráuzio Sergipano sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Pedro Paulo Vieira showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Pocho Lavezzi in the 46th minute of the match.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Pocho Lavezzi made a kick off. 51 minutes into the game, Pocho Lavezzi was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. La Gallardeta's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Calangos do Cerrado-DF the free kick. The supporters of Calangos do Cerrado-DF booed when La Gallardeta was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 51 match minutes in a wonderful position. Pocho Lavezzi didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 52nd minute Rogério Arce shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Paulino Jenaro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Pedro Paulo Vieira took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Pocho Lavezzi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Paulino Jenaro made a fantastic save in the 65th minute, when Gilson Damião sent off a good shot on target. Sebastian Messi hit a great freekick 65 minutes into the match. Dráuzio Sergipano in the 69thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Paulino Jenaro, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Rafael Haimar hit a great freekick 71 minutes into the match. With an all-out effort, Calangos do Cerrado-DF's Paulino Jenaro threw himself towards the right post 90 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Cristian Montenegro, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. After a rather tough play, La Gallardeta's Flavio Gonchan got a free kick in the 93rd minute. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Calangos do Cerrado-DF players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
