But to his dismay, Angelino Ospin quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. In the 10th minute, Cai Inestrosa ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Nicolas Mota was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. Angelino Ospin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Nicolas Mota made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cai Inestrosa in the 14th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Cai Inestrosa in the 17th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Nicolas Mota saved Rio de Janeiro F.C. from getting behind. 18 minutes into the match, Southern Thrashers's Angelino Ospin sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Nicolas Mota narrowly saved just below the crossbar. When the match clock showed 20 minutes, the score became 0-3 when Cai Inestrosa sped through Rio de Janeiro F.C.'s defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Nicolas Mota. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Cai Inestrosa in the 23rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Nicolas Mota saved Rio de Janeiro F.C. from getting behind. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cai Inestrosa in the 29th minute of play forced Rio de Janeiro F.C.'s goalkeeper Nicolas Mota to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the match had gone on for 30 minutes, Cai Inestrosa put it in 0-5 from a short distance just to the right of Nicolas Mota. Nicolas Mota stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Cai Inestrosa's shot from short distance in the 35th minute. Nicolas Mota didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Cebo Arnero went, in the 36th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-6 was the resulting score. In the 42nd minute, Jackson Millgate made a precise shot to the right of Nicolas Mota. Rio de Janeiro F.C.'s defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-7. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Cai Inestrosa in the 47th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Nicolas Mota prevented the ball from getting in the gole.

The wind increased when Cai Inestrosa made the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute Cai Inestrosa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nicolas Mota saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Angelino Ospin took the ball and in the 53 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Nicolas Mota. Nicolas Mota dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-8. In the 58thth minute of the game Cebo Arnero who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Rio de Janeiro F.C.'s Nicolas Mota was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When the match had gone on for 59 minutes, Cai Inestrosa put it in 0-9 from a short distance just to the right of Nicolas Mota. In the 62nd minute, Cai Inestrosa left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Southern Thrashers fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-10. With a little luck, Rio de Janeiro F.C.'s Nicolas Mota got control of the ball when Cai Inestrosa tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 67th match minute, Rio de Janeiro F.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fiori Machado to maneuver through the defense. 69 minutes in the game Cebo Arnero did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Angelino Ospin. Cai Inestrosa did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 0-11 to the left of a surprised Nicolas Mota 70 minutes into the match. Cebo Arnero scored 0-12 in the 75th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Nicolas Mota, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Southern Thrashers made a substitution. Rodney Markcrow replaced Eddie Pavkovic. In the 80th minute, Southern Thrashers's Jackson Millgate dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-13. Nicolas Mota was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Angelino Ospin showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-14 in the 83 minute of play. Nicolas Mota made an important save on a dangerous shot by Bleyd Dorrell in the 88th minute. Nicolas Mota made a fantastic save in the 90th minute, when Angelino Ospin sent off a good shot on target. 0-15 became the score in the 91st minute when Angelino Ospin elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. In the 95th minute, Cai Inestrosa made a precise shot to the right of Nicolas Mota. Rio de Janeiro F.C.'s defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-16. The Rio de Janeiro F.C. fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Southern Thrashers were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
