The Montesclarense E.C. fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Edgard de Almeida showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Léopold Fraval in the 14th minute of the match. Edgard de Almeida showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Aurélien Mussard, who was totally free with the ball in the 15th minute. In the 21st minute Aymerick Tourrette shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Edgard de Almeida saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Wally Lawson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Christopher Barnier having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Wally Lawson in the 24th minute of play forced U.S.Normande's goalkeeper Christopher Barnier to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Edgard de Almeida showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Léopold Fraval in the 25th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Youri Borderie in the 31st minute of play forced Montesclarense E.C.'s goalkeeper Edgard de Almeida to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to U.S.Normande getting a freekick after 32 minutes play. Mathias Mulard hit a great ball. Christopher Barnier showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Wally Lawson in the 33rd minute of the match. Montesclarense E.C.'s Jorge Sá quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Joris Callens, made in the 40th minute of the game. In the 42nd minute Wally Lawson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Christopher Barnier saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 44 minutes into the match, Montesclarense E.C.'s Agostinho Ribeiro sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Christopher Barnier narrowly saved just below the crossbar. If Wally Lawson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Youri Borderie stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 52 minutes into the match, Montesclarense E.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Youri Borderie came free, but Edgard de Almeida reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The throw-in from Joris Callens in the 56th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Montesclarense E.C.'s Agostinho Ribeiro. If Bengt-Rune Mellberg had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. U.S.Normande's Bengt-Rune Mellberg got a good chance for a goal in the 63rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When the match had gone on for 70 minutes, Léopold Fraval put it in 1-1 from a short distance just to the right of Edgard de Almeida. When the match had gone on for 73 minutes, Paulão Medeiros took a quick shot and it went in 1-2 without a chance for Christopher Barnier to make any attempt to save it. If Marcos Eger had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 82nd minute of the match, Paulão Medeiros got a very nice opportunity to score, but Christopher Barnier was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. 86 minutes into the match, U.S.Normande's goalkeeper Christopher Barnier had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Paulão Medeiros. U.S.Normande's Christopher Barnier proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 88th minute of the match, managed to save U.S.Normande from getting a goal against them. In the 90th minute Montesclarense E.C. were awarded a corner. Agostinho Ribeiro went to the cornerflag to take it. 91 minutes into the game, Bengt-Rune Mellberg was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. U.S.Normande's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Montesclarense E.C. the free kick. After a rather tough play, U.S.Normande's Bengt-Rune Mellberg got a free kick in the 91st minute. Christopher Barnier showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Wally Lawson in the 92nd minute of the match. In the 95th minute, Eurico Velloso got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Montesclarense E.C.'s supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
