In the 17th minute of the match Santos FC got a corner. Cuervo Villa Mola's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Jurand Sidorowicz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lanny Gilmore, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. In the 42nd minute of the match, Arturo Turner got a very nice opportunity to score, but Jurand Sidorowicz was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Aaron Smallwood made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sergio Baladi in the 45th minute of play. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Silvano Francho made a kick off. In the 52nd minute Lanny Gilmore shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jurand Sidorowicz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Laureano Cordarell got free with Aaron Smallwood in the 53rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Santos FC's Aaron Smallwood proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 54th minute of the match, managed to save Santos FC from getting a goal against them. In the 55th minute Arturo Turner shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jurand Sidorowicz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Santos FC's Arturo Turner in the 57th minute got a chance for a shot 57th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. After a rather tough play, Santos FC's Tory Weeks got a free kick in the 63rd minute. Aaron Smallwood made a fantastic save in the 64th minute, when Silvano Francho sent off a good shot on target. Jurand Sidorowicz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lanny Gilmore in the 68th minute of play. Aaron Smallwood made a fantastic save in the 69th minute, when Silvano Francho sent off a good shot on target. 72 minutes in the game, Lanny Gilmore dribbled his way through the penalty area and after maneuvering past an opponent, drilled a quick shot at the goal. The ball looked like it was going in, but it was hit a bit too hard and flew over the goal. Cuervo Villa Mola's Severino Atauri was substituted for Florentino Bikendi. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lanny Gilmore in the 75th minute of play forced Cuervo Villa Mola's goalkeeper Jurand Sidorowicz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Cuervo Villa Mola's Jurand Sidorowicz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lanny Gilmore in the 79th minute of play. The corner led Santos FC's Dominic Albright to fire away a dangerous shot which Jurand Sidorowicz despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. When Sergio Baladi came up free with the goalie in the 89th minute, the Cuervo Villa Mola fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Sergio Baladi couldn't finish the play. The Cuervo Villa Mola players were the happier at the end of the match as they had prevented Santos FC from taking control. The game ends in a draw.
