Giovanni Schmidt showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ramón Díaz in the 8th minute of the match. Giovanni Schmidt took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ramón Díaz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Giovanni Schmidt showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ramón Díaz, who was totally free with the ball in the 11th minute. 15 minutes into the match, Corinthians Paulistano's goal looked a bit too open when Froilan Baraquiel came free, but Giovanni Schmidt reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Deportivo Tood's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Ceferino Quinto in the 20th minute. In the 21st match minute, Deportivo Tood was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cornelio Macias to maneuver through the defense. A wasted opportunity for Deportivo Tood. 31 minutes into the game, Emil Ştefănică threw the ball into play from the sideline. Deportivo Tood's Ceferino Quinto quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Deportivo Tood's Ceferino Quinto got a good chance for a goal in the 32nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Deportivo Tood's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Ceferino Quinto in the 38th minute. The corner led Deportivo Tood's Jacobo Urbasa to fire away a dangerous shot which Giovanni Schmidt despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. 43 minutes into the match, Ramón Díaz notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Corinthians Paulistano's Giovanni Schmidt. Giovanni Schmidt was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Enéas Passos stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Eleuterio Loramendi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Célio Ramalho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Candido Lopes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ramón Díaz's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Giovanni Schmidt read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 59th minute of play. After 60 minutes Corinthians Paulistano's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Ceferino Quinto who took care of the corner kick. Tadeu Brito charged in rather forcefully in the 64th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Tadeu Brito the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 64 played minutes Corinthians Paulistano got a freekick which was hit by Tadeu Brito. 65 minutes into the match, Deportivo Tood's Ceferino Quinto sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Giovanni Schmidt narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 66 minutes into the match, Corinthians Paulistano's goal looked a bit too open when Ramón Díaz came free, but Giovanni Schmidt reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Jacobo Urbasa fell near the penalty area in the 67th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Deportivo Tood's protests and gave Jacobo Urbasa a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Corinthians Paulistano's Emil Ştefănică got a free kick in the 75th minute. Giovanni Schmidt came out of the goal in the 76th minute to try and stop a shot by Deportivo Tood's Ramón Díaz. But to his dismay, Ramón Díaz quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. Ramón Díaz blasted a shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Giovanni Schmidt having to make a save. 83 minutes into the match, Corinthians Paulistano's goal looked a bit too open when Ramón Díaz came free, but Giovanni Schmidt reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Deportivo Tood's Ramón Díaz got a good chance for a goal in the 86th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 91st minute, Emil Ştefănică hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Ceferino Quinto came up free with the goalie in the 97th minute, the Deportivo Tood fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ceferino Quinto couldn't finish the play. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Deportivo Tood had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
