Thanasis Koltsidas showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Denis Txomin, who was totally free with the ball in the 9th minute. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. AEK S.C's Donzel Goyeneta quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Esteve Curcio, made in the 66th minute of the game. After some careless play in the AEK S.C defense, Ildefonso Joey kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Thanasis Koltsidas. The AEK S.C fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Thanasis Koltsidas should have stopped the shot. Many of AEK S.C's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. AEK S.C may have spent more time on the ball, but Gallo Moron were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
