After a rather tough play, Ayapaso's Teofilo Banegas got a free kick in the 32nd minute. Ayapaso's Angelo Tulio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Simon Loizeau in the 36th minute of play. In the 37th minute Cayetano Paublo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kader Le Moigne saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Kader Le Moigne took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Reynaldo Petrigai, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Angelo Tulio made a fantastic save in the 44th minute, when Álvaro Recoba sent off a good shot on target. OLYMPIQUE DE MOISSY made a substitution. Luis Díaz replaced Jean-Yves Chantereau. After the first half Ayapaso were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

With a little luck, OLYMPIQUE DE MOISSY's Kader Le Moigne got control of the ball when Reynaldo Petrigai tried to sneak it across the goal line. Ubaldo Xabier kicked well hit freekick during the 68th minute of the match. Angelo Tulio made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mamadou Hequet in the 72nd minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Mamadou Hequet in the 72nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Angelo Tulio saved Ayapaso from getting behind. After 72 minutes, Reynaldo Petrigai mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Ayapaso and the OLYMPIQUE DE MOISSY players grew even worse after the yellow card.
