After a defensive mix-up in Melchester Rovers's zone, João Carlos Neto stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ronny Westerberg came out of the goal and João Carlos Neto tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Jörgen Bergqvist fell near the penalty area in the 95th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Melchester Rovers's protests and gave Jörgen Bergqvist a yellow card for diving instead. Melchester Rovers's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that João Carlos Neto was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-3. The Joxa mé trasan supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Joxa mé trasan would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
