In the 20th minute, Takis Saltamaras hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 21 minutes into the match, Olivier Giroud had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Ermis Chatzis. ΠΑΟΚ FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Olivier Giroud was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. Attilio Angelucci showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Aris Voutsas in the 25th minute of the match. After 26 played minutes Skyfall got a freekick which was hit by Ercole Colelli. After 27 played minutes Aris Voutsas could catch the ball where he stood relatively free a bit outside the goal and without hesitation he completed 3-1 into the left cross. An unexpectedly hard shot by Olivier Giroud in the 34th minute of play forced ΠΑΟΚ FC's goalkeeper Ermis Chatzis to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Olivier Giroud took the ball and in the 36 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Ermis Chatzis. Ermis Chatzis dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-2. A collision led to Skyfall getting a freekick after 39 minutes play. Ermanno Ragusa hit a great ball. ΠΑΟΚ FC's Ermis Chatzis played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Olivier Giroud in the 43rd minute of play. In the 45th minute Emanuele Niccolai shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ermis Chatzis saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 47 minutes into the match, ΠΑΟΚ FC's goal looked a bit too open when Emanuele Niccolai came free, but Ermis Chatzis reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The wind increased when Thomas Papagiotopoulos made the kick off in the second half. Ermis Chatzis showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Emanuele Niccolai, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Skyfall walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
