An unexpectedly hard shot by Santos Dumont in the 19th minute of play forced Ponte do Carro's goalkeeper Moisés Guerra to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Tasso FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ponte do Carro the free kick. Wawrzyniec Poremba's late challenge caught a Ponte do Carro's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Wawrzyniec Poremba helped the player get up and apologised. Wawrzyniec Poremba kicked well hit freekick during the 45th minute of the match. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Santos Dumont made a kick off. In the 55th match minute, Ponte do Carro was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cristóvão Caetano to maneuver through the defense. Ponte do Carro's Cristóvão Caetano got his second yellow card of the match in the 61st minute. The referee ordered Cristóvão Caetano off the ground. After 62 played minutes Ponte do Carro got a freekick which was hit by Cristóvão Caetano. Waldir Urbano could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 62nd minute of the match, but Moisés Guerra made a huge save. Moisés Guerra didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Waldir Urbano went, in the 65th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-2 was the resulting score. Ponte do Carro's Moisés Guerra proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 68th minute of the match, managed to save Ponte do Carro from getting a goal against them. Moisés Guerra was a little too slow when Waldir Urbano got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 75th minute. The score was now 1-3. Reinaldo Calado sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 86 minutes into the match, Ponte do Carro's goalkeeper Moisés Guerra had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Santos Dumont. In the 89th minute, Normando Fiúza got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. With a little luck, Ponte do Carro's Moisés Guerra got control of the ball when Santos Dumont tried to sneak it across the goal line. The Tasso FC players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
