After some fancy dribbling in the 4th minute, Leonid Akinfeev managed to get in a good position for a shot. АКАДЕМИЯ АЙГУЛЬ ТАХМАЗ's supporters rose to their feet, but Leonid Akinfeev was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Michal Korčák breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Leonid Akinfeev in the 10th minute of play forced Golden Tigers's goalkeeper Michal Korčák to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After having played for 20 minutes, Leonid Akinfeev managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. АКАДЕМИЯ АЙГУЛЬ ТАХМАЗ's supporters crossed their fingers, but Leonid Akinfeev was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Rostislav Limoshin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Michal Korčák having to interfere. Mikhail Kirileev hit a great freekick 25 minutes into the match. Alex Jágr's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Arne Espeel read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 29th minute of play. Michal Korčák showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Leonid Akinfeev, who was totally free with the ball in the 40th minute. Arne Espeel stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Bořek Kalista's shot from short distance in the 41st minute. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Leonid Akinfeev made a kick off. After 54 played minutes АКАДЕМИЯ АЙГУЛЬ ТАХМАЗ got a freekick which was hit by Leonid Akinfeev. If Feijo Freire had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 58thth minute of the game Alex Jágr who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but АКАДЕМИЯ АЙГУЛЬ ТАХМАЗ's Arne Espeel was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The supporters of Golden Tigers booed when АКАДЕМИЯ АЙГУЛЬ ТАХМАЗ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 63 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rostislav Limoshin didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ivan Rohlíček hit a great freekick 66 minutes into the match. Arne Espeel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bořek Kalista, who was totally free with the ball in the 70th minute. Rostislav Limoshin struck a weak shot in the 77th minute. Michal Korčák didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for АКАДЕМИЯ АЙГУЛЬ ТАХМАЗ. After a rather tough play, АКАДЕМИЯ АЙГУЛЬ ТАХМАЗ's Leonid Akinfeev got a free kick in the 81st minute. Leonid Akinfeev's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Michal Korčák read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 83rd minute of play. In the 85th minute Rostislav Limoshin collided with an opponent which caused him a fractured collar bone. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ivan Rohlíček during the 85th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. АКАДЕМИЯ АЙГУЛЬ ТАХМАЗ's Valter Kapinin was substituted for Rostislav Limoshin. The Golden Tigers supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching АКАДЕМИЯ АЙГУЛЬ ТАХМАЗ's performance. The match ended with a win for АКАДЕМИЯ АЙГУЛЬ ТАХМАЗ.
