Charles de Brito made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Valdir de Amorim in the 41st minute of play. Matias Taffarel showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Zé Pedro de Amaral in the 42nd minute of the match. Charles de Brito made a fantastic save in the 43rd minute, when Er Håland sent off a good shot on target. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Romeu Gaspar made a kick off. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Magno das Neves during the 50th minute. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Magno das Neves couldn't finish the play. In the 86th match minute, Ubatuba was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luiz Paulo Pereira to maneuver through the defense. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for TaTeRo Boys.
