The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 3rd minute of the game. One of Wambalamba FC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Fabiofs:s goal. The referee gave Fabiofs a penalty, 5 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Pedro Paulo Arce, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Wambalamba FC's Toninho Moura. 0-1. The supporters of Wambalamba FC booed when Fabiofs was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 10 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kléber Guimarães didn't get a good kick on the ball. Giuseppe Montenegro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gernando Gerber, who was totally free with the ball in the 12th minute. Noel Proença might have been able to make a better finish in the 13th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Toninho Moura. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Noel Proença ran back to his position shaking his head. Zé Augusto Recife fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Toninho Moura having to interfere. 17 minutes into the game, João Paulo Dantas was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Wambalamba FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Fabiofs the free kick. In the 17th match minute, Wambalamba FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by João Paulo Dantas to maneuver through the defense. In the 18th minute, Cauã Barreto fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Giuseppe Montenegro, passed just outside the right post. Fabiofs's Giuseppe Montenegro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by João Paulo Dantas in the 21st minute of play. 22 minutes into the game, Fabiofs's Zé Augusto Recife nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Toninho Moura made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. After a defensive mix-up in Wambalamba FC's zone, Kléber Guimarães stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Toninho Moura came out of the goal and Kléber Guimarães tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Noel Proença had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Toninho Moura didn't succeed to prevent the ball from going into goal when Fabiofs's Kléber Guimarães shot an unexpected shot in the crossbar's under edge and made 0-3 in the ordered_time% minute. Wambalamba FC's Toninho Moura played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Zé Augusto Recife in the 34th minute of play. Toninho Moura made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Noel Proença in the 43rd minute of play. After 44 played minutes Wambalamba FC got a freekick which was hit by Murilo Soares. After 47 played minutes Fabiofs got a freekick which was hit by Noel Proença. Disappointed in the 0-4 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Cauã Barreto made the kick off in the second half. In the 51st match minute, Fabiofs was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Noel Proença to maneuver through the defense. In the 56th minute, João Paulo Dantas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Toninho Moura showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Marcinho Lopez, who was totally free with the ball in the 61st minute. With an all-out effort, Fabiofs's Toninho Moura threw himself towards the right post 86 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Zé Augusto Recife, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Toninho Moura made an important save on a dangerous shot by Kléber Guimarães in the 91st minute. The Fabiofs supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Fabiofs would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
