In the 6th minute Luiz Fernando Botelho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Orlando Dante saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Nicolas Sousa struck a weak shot in the 10th minute. Valdemar Quadros didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Montesclarense E.C.. After a rather tough play, Cruzeiro MZC -DMZ-'s Tostão Pernambucano got a free kick in the 11th minute. When Montesclarense E.C.'s Nicolas Sousa in the 14th minute got a chance for a shot 14th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Valdemar Quadros breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The supporters of Montesclarense E.C. booed when Cruzeiro MZC -DMZ- was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tostão Pernambucano didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 20th match minute, Montesclarense E.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Wilson do Nascimento to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to Cruzeiro MZC -DMZ- getting a freekick after 21 minutes play. Tostão Pernambucano hit a great ball. Tostão Pernambucano kicked well hit freekick during the 23rd minute of the match. Orlando Dante made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luiz Fernando Botelho in the 27th minute of play. When the match clock showed 33 minutes, the score became 1-0 when Nicolas Sousa sped through Cruzeiro MZC -DMZ-'s defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Valdemar Quadros. Orlando Dante made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hortêncio Fontes in the 37th minute of play. Nicolas Sousa in the 40thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Valdemar Quadros, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

Orlando Dante yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-1. Cruzeiro MZC -DMZ-'s Valdemar Quadros played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nicolas Sousa in the 72nd minute of play. When the match had gone on for 72 minutes, Nicolas Sousa put it in 2-1 from a short distance just to the right of Valdemar Quadros. 75 minutes into the game, Tostão Pernambucano was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Cruzeiro MZC -DMZ-'s manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Montesclarense E.C. the free kick. After a rather tough play, Cruzeiro MZC -DMZ-'s Tostão Pernambucano got a free kick in the 75th minute. Orlando Dante stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Luiz Fernando Botelho's shot from short distance in the 83rd minute. Valdemar Quadros showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Wilson do Nascimento in the 90th minute of the match. Orlando Dante showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luiz Fernando Botelho, who was totally free with the ball in the 95th minute. There was no doubt that Montesclarense E.C. were the better team. Montesclarense E.C.'s players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
