Ángel Romero fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rafael Godoi having to interfere. In the 26th minute Ángel Romero shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rafael Godoi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 27 minutes Mamutes EC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Francisco Félix who took care of the corner kick. Espigão Steamrollers's Yuri Paranaense got a good chance for a goal in the 29th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Mamutes EC's Rafael Godoi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ángel Romero in the 38th minute of play. Rafael Godoi showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ángel Romero in the 40th minute of the match. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

With a little luck, Mamutes EC's Rafael Godoi got control of the ball when Durvalino Carneiro tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 53rd minute, Cauã Pombal hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.
