The throw-in from Vicente Abaunza in the 3rd minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Deportivo Messina's Gervasio Larra. After 4 minutes of play, Deportivo Messina's Eduardo Araoz made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Osvaldo Tomi was left in no man's land by his defense there! Gerardo Gonzalez kicked well hit freekick during the 12th minute of the match. Agustin Maule took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Vicente Abaunza, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Atilano Foro in the 18th minute of play forced Deportivo Messina's goalkeeper Agustin Maule to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Regresado getting a freekick after 23 minutes play. Arnoldo Policarpio hit a great ball. Regresado's Osvaldo Tomi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gervasio Larra in the 24th minute of play. Agustin Maule showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ismael Acuña, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. Eduardo Araoz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Osvaldo Tomi having to interfere. Deportivo Messina's Agustin Maule proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 39th minute of the match, managed to save Deportivo Messina from getting a goal against them. Regresado's Osvaldo Tomi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eduardo Araoz in the 42nd minute of play. After having played for 46 minutes, Cecilio Quinteros managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Deportivo Messina's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cecilio Quinteros was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Arnoldo Policarpio kicked well hit freekick during the 47th minute of the match. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Atilano Foro to strike the kick off in the second half. The supporters of Regresado booed when Deportivo Messina was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 70 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luis Cordario didn't get a good kick on the ball. 77 minutes into the match, Deportivo Messina's goal looked a bit too open when Ismael Acuña came free, but Agustin Maule reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Osvaldo Tomi showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eduardo Araoz in the 87th minute of the match. 88 minutes into the match, Cecilio Quinteros had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Osvaldo Tomi. Regresado's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Cecilio Quinteros was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. Eduardo Araoz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 93rd minute. Osvaldo Tomi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Deportivo Messina's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
