An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristian Gaur in the 29th minute of play forced Inter Miami CF's goalkeeper Reynaldo Donio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Inter Miami CF's Reynaldo Donio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Florencio Opilano in the 45th minute of play.

Tom Misaki might have been able to make a better finish in the 54th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Hernan Ellande. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Tom Misaki ran back to his position shaking his head. Hernan Ellande showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Blas Urtungo, who was totally free with the ball in the 58th minute. 59 minutes into the match, Academia Club's goalkeeper Hernan Ellande had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Blas Urtungo. If Florencio Opilano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Inter Miami CF getting a freekick after 67 minutes play. Everardo Enmanuel hit a great ball. After having played for 68 minutes, Florencio Opilano managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Academia Club's supporters crossed their fingers, but Florencio Opilano was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Florencio Opilano fell near the penalty area in the 70th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Academia Club's protests and gave Florencio Opilano a yellow card for diving instead. Inter Miami CF's Blas Urtungo was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 73rd play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. In the 76th minute Blas Urtungo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hernan Ellande saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Tom Misaki struck a weak shot in the 82nd minute. Hernan Ellande didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Inter Miami CF. A collision led to Academia Club getting a freekick after 83 minutes play. Sergio Puyol hit a great ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Luo Wei Bang during the 86th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Inter Miami CF's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
