Spectators: 174 (Terracing: 131, Seating: 40, VIP seats: 3) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Liberto Mowat got the match started through his kick off. When Jose Maria Rossel came up free with the goalie in the 6th minute, the U.C.MILÁN fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jose Maria Rossel couldn't finish the play. In the 8th minute Cristian Botasso shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fabien Barthez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After having played for 9 minutes, Liberto Mowat managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. U.C.MILÁN's supporters crossed their fingers, but Liberto Mowat was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Salomón Oyuela showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from John Villalon in the 15th minute of the match. U.C.MILÁN's Salomón Oyuela played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by John Villalon in the 20th minute of play. Fabien Barthez didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Cristian Botasso went, in the 21st minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Salomón Oyuela made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from John Villalon in the 25th minute of play. U.C.MILÁN's Roberto Manzur quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Javiero Velunza, made in the 28th minute of the game. After 30 played minutes United FC got a freekick which was hit by Nicky Butt. Edwin Smith kicked well hit freekick during the 31st minute of the match. 36 minutes into the match, U.C.MILÁN's goal looked a bit too open when Uriel Ribeiro came free, but Salomón Oyuela reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of U.C.MILÁN booed when United FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 39 match minutes in a wonderful position. Goren Cabañas didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 44th match minute, U.C.MILÁN was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Roberto Manzur to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to United FC getting a freekick after 46 minutes play. Mauro Arias hit a great ball. After the first half U.C.MILÁN were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when John Villalon made the kick off in the second half. Fabien Barthez showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jose Maria Rossel, who was totally free with the ball in the 56th minute. After having played for 57 minutes, Edwin Smith managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. United FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Edwin Smith was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Nicky Butt charged in rather forcefully in the 58th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Nicky Butt the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. U.C.MILÁN's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave United FC the free kick. A collision led to U.C.MILÁN getting a freekick after 85 minutes play.
